Armed bandits rob Kuru Kururu woman

first_imgAs there continues to be mounting concerns over the increase of persons being trailed and robbed from commercial banks, a Kuru Kururu, Linden/Soesdyke Highway woman is the latest victim of this modus operandi.Gail Doman, 44, a housewife of Lot 145 Kuru Kururu, was robbed of her shoulder bag which contained $100,000, a GBTI bank book, National Identification card, a S6 Active cellular phone worth $100,000, a gold chain value $30,000 and her car keys. She along with businessman, Mangal Vishnudatt, was attacked by two men, who were armed with a handgun at about 11:30h on Saturday.The incident occurred in front of Vishnudatt’s Lot 1 Garden of Eden, East Bank Demerara (EBD) residence, where he operates a machine shop. The businessman was also relieved of $10,000 cash and a cellphone valued $4000.According to reports, Doman went to the bank in Diamond, EBD, at about 11:00h to make a withdrawal and then proceeded to Vishnudatt’s machine shop to make a purchase.Upon Doman’s arrival, Vishnudatt was standing in front his residence and the two began conversing. A short while after, a silver-grey fielder wagon motor car bearing registration number HC 8265 pulled up and the two suspects exited from the front seats. They confronted the victims, holding them at gunpoint and relieved them of their belongings.The bandits then made good their escape in a southern direction.The matter was reported, and an investigation has been launched. The Police have since obtained CCTV footage and are on the hunt for the two suspects.last_img
