Ryan Giggs – The Manchester United and Welsh great has been linked with a host of managerial jobs after leaving Old Trafford following his spell as Louis van Gaal’s assistant. While Giggs has been doing a fair share of media work his intention has always been to get a manager’s job somewhere but, at the moment, he has not been granted an opportunity. 7. Laurent Blanc – The former France manager could be an option for Southampton after he was replaced at Paris Saint-Germain by Unai Emery last year. Blanc remained without a job throughout all of last season and he could be eager to jump back into the managerial circus. 1. Frank de Boer – The Dutchman earned his stripes as a manager at Ajax but has been out of work following his ill-fated spell at Inter Milan. De Boer was sacked by Inter in November 2016, after just 14 games in charge, and has been linked with a Premier League move for some time. 8 5. Julian Nagelsmann – One of the most impressive up-and-coming bosses, the 29-year-old Hoffenheim manager seems destined to be linked with every job going. He came in as boss in February 2016 to save the club from relegation before leading Hoffenheim to a stratospheric fourth place finish in the Bundesliga last season. 8 8 6. Mauricio Pellegrino – A former Argentine defender, who once had a spell playing for Liverpool, Pellegrino is available after he impressively took newly-promoted Spanish side Alaves to 9th in LaLiga and the Copa Del Rey final last season. Heavily linked with the Crystal Palace vacancy but could there be a late Southampton swoop? 8 2. Thomas Tuchel – The ex-Borussia Dortmund boss has reportedly ruled himself out of the running for the Saints job but could still be a contender. The German left Dortmund shortly after winning the German Cup following disagreements with the club hierarchy.
