Errani beats Svitolina to reach Dubai final

first_imgDUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP):Sara Errani of Italy, advanced to her second Dubai Tennis Championships final with a 6-4, 6-4 win over 21st-ranked Elina Svitolina of Ukraine yesterday.The 22nd-ranked Errani was a 2013 finalist, losing to Petra Kvitova of Czech Republic.The match was a one hour, 51-minute battle of long rallies and games, featuring eight service breaks.Errani prevailed with a final break in the ninth game of the first set and seventh game of the second set.”It was really tough,” said Errani, who will seek her ninth WTA title. “Every point, every game was really long. Maha SSC results: 193 students score 100 per cent

first_imgPune, Jun 13 (PTI) A total of 193 students scored 100 per cent marks in the Maharashtra Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Class X examination, results for which were declared today.The officials of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary said the reason behind the increase in the number of students scoring cent per cent marks could be because they got benefit of extra marks under the arts/drawing and sports quota.While the sports quota was already existing, the board this year introduced arts/drawing quota, which led to the increase in the number of students scoring 100 per cent marks.Last year 39 students had scored 100 per cent.A pass percentage of 88.74 was registered in Maharashtra in the results of this years Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination.A total of 81,736 students benefitted due to newly introduced arts/drawing quota, while 3,903 students got benefit of the sports quota.
